What Inspired you to pursue a degree in science?

My childhood was filled with experiences that nurtured my curiosity, especially exposure to science related books and documentaries. These early encounters sparked a deep interest in understanding how the world works. Since many countries face challenges such as health crises, climate change, and infrastructural limitations, I felt compelled to pursue a degree in science. I was particularly inspired by the desire to address pressing issues like environmental pollution and energy crises that continue to impact communities across the continent.

Have you done any graduate or professional studies after Coppin?

Not yet.

What are you doing now in your career?

I work as a Research Scientist at Curia Global, which I play a key role in drug discovery, development, and manufacturing services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.

How has your education at Coppin Department of Natural Sciences prepared you for your career?

My education at Coppin State University Department of Natural Sciences provided a solid and comprehensive foundation for my career in scientific research. The program rigorous coursework in polymer, materials science, and hands-on laboratory training equipped me with critical competencies in experimental design, data analysis, and analytical instrumentation skills that are directly applicable to my current role as a Research Scientist at Curia global. The department strong focus on research, innovation, and real-world problem-solving prepared me to tackle complex scientific challenges and contribute meaningfully to pharmaceutical development in a fast-paced environment. Pursuing a degree in the sciences offers a wealth of opportunities, but success requires more than just classroom learning. It's critical to establish a solid foundation in fundamental courses and have practical experience through study or internships. Resilience is essential as setbacks are part of the journey. But with the right mindset and preparation, a science degree can lead to a rewarding and impactful career.
